Cultural Presentations, Fall 2017

In the fall of 2017, Capítulo Rho Rho presented three cultural presentations ranging in topics. Members Alexia Adeshakin, Kay Adair and Victoria Soncasie presented the first topic of Ecotourism in Latin America on October 10th.

The second presentation, on October 31st, discussed the annual celebration of Día de los muertos. Zyanya Hernandez, Katy Adair and Victoria Soncasie presented on various aspects, including common foods, rituals, and significance of the popular holiday.

On November 7th, the third presentation discussed Hispanic Experience in Kirksville. Guest presenters Dr. Sergio Escobar, Dr. Juan Valencia and student Maria Padron shared their experiences of immigration and different cultures between their home countries and the United States. Members Katy Adair and Nadine Peterson also helped present on this topic.  

The last cultural presentation discussed different styles, origins and traditions of dance. The presentation concluded with a dance instruction by member Zyanya Hernandez. Members Katy Adair and Rachel Flynn also aided in the presentation.
